Bipartisan legislation sponsored by Senator Chris Brown (R-2) that will protect Atlantic County’s coast and tourism industry by opposing a federal plan to allow offshore drilling for oil and natural gas in State waters has passed the Senate Environment and Energy Committee.

College Affordability Bill Package Passes Senate
A bipartisan package of bills co-sponsored by Senator Chris Brown (R-Atlantic) to help middle-class families afford college passed the Senate.

“Let’s face it, college has become too expensive for many of our students to attend which is why we must continue to find ways to make college affordable for our middle-class families,” said Brown. “Our children deserve to enter the job market well prepared without crippling debt.”
Chris Brown Sworn in as Atlantic County’s Newest State Senator
Surrounded by his wife Christine, and his children Matt, Danny, and Mallory, lifelong Atlantic County resident Chris Brown took his oath office for the New Jersey State Senate today, becoming the eighth State Senator from Atlantic County under the 1947 State Constitution.

Brown enters the Senate after a six-year tenure in the General Assembly characterized by his independent voting record and his unrelenting opposition and ultimately successful battle against North Jersey casinos and his sponsorship of legislation to diversify Atlantic County’s economy through the aviation industry.
